Question by jouri21: Why does my Dell Desktop Inspiron 570 keep showing black lines and giving a Black screen?
have a Dell Inspiron Desktop computer with Vista 64. I first got this computer last year in 2010 in Feb. Now the problem is this…Whenever I’m on the computer such as being on the main desktop screen or on the Internet, sometimes I will get a fuzzy screen with lines that are moving up and down all over the screen or when it gets too bad, I will get a complete black screen and then I cant do anything at all, it seems like the light on my monitor (flat screen) will turn to yellow instead of White (which is the normal color to know it is on). For example, I was on facebook playing one of the flash games on there such as Farmville for example, and then the screen started acting all up with black lines appearing and then the screen will go completely black and then I’ll have to resort in turning my computer off cause I cant even press crt, alt, and delete to use the task manager. It’s like the system half way shut itself off. I know it’s not a monitor problem because I called the DELL company on the phone and they guided me through to see what was wrong and I tested my monitor by unplugging it even when I had that black screen and I could see the blue message with the VGA colors moving around the screen to know that it wasn’t the problem. So then afterwards I was told to format the entire computer which I did and started from scratch just like when I first bought the computer, when I got back to the main desktop screen after the beginning setup and everything, a few minutes later I still got black lines and then a complete black screen again. So now I dont know what to do to fix this problem. I bought this desktop computer from Wal-mart and the way my DELL Inspiron is made, I cant open the PC system and look inside to see what’s wrong because there is no door or switch or anything to open it with. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how I can fix this problem? I’ve tried everything. But here is one thing I noticed…When I’m in Safe mode with Networking and I was on there or a long period of time, I didn’t have any problems. And no, I dont have any viruses or spam in my computer, I’ve cleaned it several times and dont forget I formatted the whole computer too. So can someone PLEASE help me? Thanks!
